PreK-K News
We kicked off Lutheran school's week at Klinger with a special visit from Mr. Nick! All students presented a short play about a Bible story for parents before we enjoyed lunch together. We tested our memory in the afternoon playing a game of Bible Jeopardy.
On Tuesday, we learned the Lord's Prayer using colored hearts. After lunch, we read "The Butter Batter Book" by Dr. Seuss. We discussed the importance of compromising and tried our luck making homemade butter. We chose to be a Zook or a Yook and ate our bread with the butter side up or the butter side down. We decided both ways were okay! Wednesday after chapel, we enjoyed a visit with Daniel Sanchez from Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. He got us excited about camp this summer. After lunch, we read "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss and talked about the importance of taking care of the world God gave us. After our story, we created a Witness Ball with items to remind us of our faith.
On Thursday, we wrapped up Lutheran schools week with a field trip to "The Hobbit" at the Black Hawk Children's theater. In the afternoon, we sat down to enjoy a good movie with a special snack. Throughout the week, we have added details to a "graffiti" wall in our hallway. Students also worked on junk art inventions at home that tie into their faith. Come visit us to check out all the neat things in our hallway.

7th-8th News
Lutheran Schools Week has been celebrated this week. The students have had a great time with all the activities, dress up competitions, and Bible verses. Even though we have been celebrating LSW, the students have continued on with their studies. In social studies, the students are working on their roaring twenties fliers; while in science we are looking at the weather and what the clouds can tell us. We are finishing the final chapters of Treasure Island in reading class. The students are excited to find out what happens to Jim and Long John Silver. A few predictions have been spot on with what the final outcome will be. Next week, we get back into the swing of things with a field trip to the GBPAC to see Romeo and Juliet.
